Welcome 2016!

2016 is off to a great start in fourth grade! We spent the week reviewing expectations, discussing character strengths, and setting goals.  In reading we continue to discuss quality literature and dig into the skill of questioning. It is important for students question text and use a variety of strategies to seek answers. We also started our winter DRA (District Reading Assessment).

Your child has been accepted into the Shepard Medical School Class of 2016.  Over the next six weeks they will learn about six of the main body systems.  They will watch videos, use interactive websites, read articles, research in books, lead discussions and more. We will spend a great deal of time learning basic information about these body systems together. Once they have a general knowledge of all six systems, they will apply for a specialty.  We will have cardiologists, neurologists, orthopedists, and more. Once they have chosen a specialty, they will create an infographic, demonstration, and presentation about their body system.
