March Update

We have been very busy in room 12!  This week we completed a one read of I Survived-True Tales of Natural Disasters.  We learned about the Joplin Tornado, avalanches, and Hurricane Sandy.  We were able to take fabulous notes and share in great discussion about our reading.

We also spent a great deal of time researching our Famous Missourians.  We read books, internet articles, and explored websites to gather a wide array of information.  We have recorded our information in a Google Doc that can be accessed and edited from any computer or handheld technology device.  Our goal is to have enough information to be able to create informative paragraphs about our Famous Missourian. These paragraphs of information will be collected and compiled into an iBook.  Please ask your child about their research progress.  Feel free to work on this at home and check their progress at any point. Your child can tell you their log-in information or I would be happy to provide it.  Thank you for supporting them as learners outside of the classroom. At this time, we are not sure when our projects will be done and ready to share - We will be in touch soon with more information about scheduling our learning share event.

Thank you to all of the amazing grandparents who attended Grandparents Day on Friday, March 4th.  We loved welcoming you in to our classroom and we hope you come back to visit soon.  Our fourth grade photographers captured some great photos of families and the event.  Please check them out in the video below.
